Full review

I was pleasantly surprised by Earth Elements, a game that offers a unique and engaging experience. The concept of playing with a group of game characters called RoundOnes, who collect resources and use them to build their own world, immediately grabbed my attention.

The gameplay revolves around digging tiles in the game called Elements to earn DUCATS, which can be used for upgrades. I found this mechanic intriguing as it added an element of strategy and resource management to the game. Additionally, being able to mix elements in mixers and build improvements on the map further enhanced my enjoyment.

One aspect that stood out to me was the inclusion of vital needs for the RoundOnes such as food and sleep levels. These vitals have an impact on their health, but thankfully there are builds like sleep beds and food tables that can be placed to replenish them. It added another layer of complexity to the gameplay while also providing opportunities for creativity.

What impressed me about Earth Elements was its non-linear nature. The freedom of choice offered in terms of different routes one can take during each playthrough is truly commendable. With over a hundred builds available, including monumental ones like Stonehenge or Great Pyramid, players have endless possibilities when it comes to creating their own version of wonders.

The random generation feature of maps ensures replayability as no two sessions will be exactly alike. This variability adds excitement as you never know what surprises await you beneath each tile or what new discoveries can be made – from defrosting Yetis after encountering permafrost or even recreating dinosaurs with DNA rebuilders! The introduction of different character types – RoundOne, Yeti, Droid – further adds diversity and makes each playthrough feel fresh.

The visuals in Earth Elements are charmingly simplistic yet effective enough at conveying information without overwhelming players with unnecessary details. Combined with its intuitive controls, the game provides an enjoyable experience for both casual and seasoned gamers alike.

In conclusion, Earth Elements is a captivating game that offers players freedom of choice, strategic gameplay mechanics, and endless possibilities for creativity. Its non-linear nature, random map generation feature, and diverse character types make each playthrough a unique adventure. Whether you're a fan of resource management games or enjoy building your own world from scratch, Earth Elements is definitely worth exploring.
