Starts out as a basic point and click exploration game, but sorta turns into a sidescroller/platformer hybrid. However, the core of the experience is a slightly emotional story of an old war veteran.

The Last Sky is a captivating narrative puzzle adventure that delves into the themes of life, loss, and love. From the moment you embark on this meditative journey into Jake's mind, you are transported into a dreamlike world where contrasting emotions and choices shape his story.
One of the first things that caught my attention about The Last Sky is its visually stunning environment. The combination of 3D puzzles and 2D platforming creates a unique gameplay experience where dreams blend with reality. As you navigate through Jake's past, present, and future, each step reveals more about his inner struggles and desires.
The game initially presents itself as a point-and-click exploration title but gradually evolves into an engaging sidescroller/platformer hybrid. While unexpected at first, this shift in gameplay adds depth to the overall experience without detracting from the emotional core of Jake's story.
Speaking of emotion, The Last Sky succeeds in crafting an incredibly touching narrative centered around an old war veteran. Through its beautifully developed storyline and thoughtful pacing, I found myself emotionally invested in every aspect of Jake's journey. It explored poignant themes such as life-versus-death contrasted with fear-versus-love while also touching upon concepts like loss versus hope.
What impressed me most was how well-crafted each branching ending was within the multi-branching storyline structure. Your choices throughout your playthroughs significantly impact which uniquely crafted ending you will reach. This encourages replayability as uncovering all possible endings allows for a deeper understanding of both Jake's character development and alternative perspectives on his personal struggles.
