Thief Simulator 2 takes players on an exciting journey back to the 80s, where they can experience the thrill of being a border patrol officer. Set in the mountainous region of Karikatka, this game puts you in charge of maintaining strict control over entry into the Acarist People's Republic.
One of the key aspects of your role is document control. Every visitor must have valid documents, and even the smallest discrepancy could result in refusal of entry. As you progress through the game, detecting errors becomes more challenging as the number and complexity of documents increase.
In addition to document control, you'll also be tasked with detecting smuggling activities. Relying on intelligence provided by your agency, you'll need to search vehicles using a UV flashlight and extract smuggled goods using appropriate tools. Your goal is to ensure that no contraband crosses the border under your watchful eye.
The job isn't without its dangers though. Shootouts with Oberankov's gang are a constant threat at your station, and every away mission carries potential risks as well. You may find yourself forced to use firearms in order to protect yourself and maintain order.
As part of your duties, police chases will also become necessary when desperate smugglers attempt to escape from controlled zones. Buying and upgrading police cars will improve pursuit effectiveness so that these criminals can be caught swiftly.
To enhance inspection capabilities and fortify defenses against attacks from rebel groups like Blood Fist rebels or other threats encountered along Acaristan borders it is essential for officers such as yourself upgrade their police stations regularly despite rising costs involved..
With successful inspections, foiled smuggling attempts,and resolved emergencies; financial rewards will follow providing room for better managing resources required for maintaining operating stations besides allowing opportunities for special assignments such as solving crime puzzles or assisting comrades during critical situations, ultimately influencing the future of Acaristan.
